BJP can not Tolerate Curruption, Demands action on Corrupt Food Inspectors. There is a News of Organised Curruption in getting Food License, Registration and Hygiene Certificate from the Food Safety Division of Directorate of Health Services, reported in a Local media on 03 Feb 2014. Our men did inquiries with traders and it came to know that the allegations leveled are true to much extent, but they are reluctant to depose before the Anti Corruption fearing harassment by the Food Safety Officer and higher officers as they have to do business further also. They said it is a routine practice to shell out good amount of money, liquor and other favours to get a hassle free procedures. BJP demands inquiry by District Magistrate being the Head of the Law enforcement Agencies in the matter of createling shadow files, changing the location of address of the shop and gets the certification done easily without the knowledge of the concerned Food Inspector and the higher officer. Further inquiry into the bank instrument etc and also who is the original signatory of the Hygiene certificates issued to get bar license are required. It is also needs to investigated why only the particular Food Inspector handles all the bars and hotels of south Andaman, even though it does not fall in his jurisdiction. An inquiry into the call details, the unaccountable bank balances and assets would reveal the sources of unaccountable transactions. The party demands for an inquiry into the truth and Suspend the Gang of Food Safety Officers immediately. The party requests the traders that, in future if any Food Inspector is asking for money or material kindly inform the Anti Corruption Unit.
