BJP holds protest against PDD A massive protest was held at Muthi chowk, Jammu today against the PDD by the BJP activists and public of Muthi, Barnai, Bantalab, Domana areas. The protestors were led by BJP State General Secretary & Former MLA Bali Bhagat alongwith Distt. General Secretary Omi Khajuria and senior leader Suraj Padha. The agitated activists and local public blocked the road for more than two hours and lifted the blockade only when the representative of PDD came on the spot and the Chief Engineer and Dy. Commissioner, Jammu telephonically assured the BJP representatives that the situation would be remedied by evening. The agitating activists were raising slogans against the NC-Congress coalition government and PDD. Bali Bhagat, while addressing the protestors, said that its seems the coalition government has not fully grasped public feeling and resentment against it even after the drubbing it got during the recent elections. The NC-Congress coalition must realize that they have to perform and provide proper and good-governance ensuring availability of basic necessities and amenities of life like power and drinking water. Even after having effected hundred per cent metering in the Jammu city, yet every area is subjected to unscheduled long duration cuts by the PDD. The quality of equipment used in the transmission and distribution of electricity leaves much to be desire. For no reasons the PDD uses transformers and switchgear system in the distribution which is of extremely low quality and gives much headache and trouble to the public. Bhagat added that it is high time some independent enquiry is conducted to investigate the entire procurement of equipment by PDD. The youth on account of lack of electricity suffer most as they are unable to pursue their studies, thereby marring their careers. The youth is already suffering and under great mental strain on account of lack of avenues of employment due to the insensitivity of the NC-Congress government. Lastly, Bhagat said that BJP shall continue to raise public issues till the situation is not remedied. BJP leaders Swarn Singh Bhau, Ajit Singh Slathia, Mukesh Sharma, Madhu Soodan, Raju Bhardwaj and others took part in the protest.
