*BLACK HISTORY FACT* Frank Wills a black Washington, DC, security guard, foiled a break-in at the offices of the Democratic National Committee on this date in 1972. This discovery was the first event of the Watergate scandal. On the night of June 17, Wills noticed a piece of duct tape on one of the door locks when he was making his rounds on the midnight shift. He removed the tape and continued on with his patrol. One of the five burglars noticed that the tape had been removed, and replaced it with another piece of tape on the door’s latch bolt to prevent the door from latching. When Frank Wills returned, he saw that the tape had been replaced and called the police. The five intruders were found in the DNC offices and were arrested. This triggered the chain of events which exposed the Watergate scandal and eventually led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. #JoeMadison #SiriusXM #UrbanView #History SiriusXM Urban View
