BLAINE-KNOXVILLE: **********BREAKING NEWS************* DELBERT MORGAN FACES REPAYMENT OF STOLEN MONEY ****PROPOSED BLAINE FOOD CITY SITE IN JEOPARDY**** Long-time Blaine political rainmaker/planning commissioner/alderman and current mayoral adviser Delbert Morgan thought he had a bit of a reprieve with his sentencing in the Knox County Trustees office scandal which was originally scheduled for today and had been rescheduled for November 24th. But now he has received some additional news which, unfortunately for Morgan, his family and his cozy compadres in the current leadership of Blaine City Government, could quite possibly be very bad indeed. According to todays edition of the Knoxville News Sentinel, Knox County Finance Director Chris Caldwell has filed a lengthy victim impact statement on behalf of the county, its employees and its taxpayers and is pushing along with prosecutors to urge Judge Steve Sword to order Morgan to repay the county in full, in addition to jail time. If indeed that Morgan is ordered to repay Knox County he may be forced to liquidate assets and sell his properties, which may or may not include the proposed Food City site that incumbent Mayor Patsy McElhaneys administration has mortgaged its entire future on and spent anticipated city beer tax revenue like drunken sailors on shore leave. Officials at KVAT Food City headquarters in Abington Va have declined commenting at this time and until the full scope of the situation can be determined. Also, by betting heavily upon Food City for its new waste water treatment facility to get out of the red, the spent drunken sailors aboard Captain Morgans sinking ship may be sending out an S.O.S. for a government bailout, sooner rather than later...............developing
