BLESSINGS OF THE LORD AS MY SHEPHERD By Daddy G.O. Adeboye Song: O Come let us adore him (3ce), Him Christ - The Lord! Bible Reference: Psalm 23:1-end There are tremendous blessings that can be mine if I make the Lord my shepherd and I his sheep (not a goat). These blessings can be placed in fourteen (14) categories: ONE: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will never lack rest because he says “he maketh me to LIE DOWN in green pastures.” Psalm 127:2 also tells us “he gives his beloved sleep. As you make God your shepherd in 2015, you will not lack sleep because sleeplessness is not for the sheep of Jesus. TWO: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I’ll be well fed. Hunger will be a stranger because “he maketh me to lie down in GREEN PASTURES.” Psalm 63:5 also tells me that “My soul shall be satisfied with marrow and fatness…” THREE: If I am a sheep of Jesus, my thirst shall be satisfied because “he leads me beside the still WATERS.” Matthew 5:6 also tells me “blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled” FOUR: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will not lack restoration because “he RESTORES my soul” In Joel 2:23-26 he promises to restore the years the locust, caterpillar, cankerworm, and palmerworm have stolen. FIVE: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will not lack guidance because “he LEADETH me in the paths of righteousnesss” Also John 16:12-13 states “the Spirit of truth will guide you…” SIX: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will have nothing to fear because I will enjoy His divine presence. Psalm 23 tell me “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…” He also promises in Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you” SEVEN: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will not lack for comfort because “thy rod and thy staff comfort me” His rod corrects me when I am wrong and His staff guarantees my protection. In John 14:16 The Great Shepherd promises to send me the Holy Spirit (The comforter). EIGHT: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will always enjoy generous divine provision because the Psalm 23 tells me “thou prepares A TABLE before me…” Psalm 13:6 says “God has dealt BOUNTIFULLY with me” NINE: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will enjoy divine security because he prepares a table before me IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES!!! Proverbs 18:10 tells me “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” TEN: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will not lack anointing because Psalm 23 says “thou anointed my head with oil…” Isaiah 10:27 says the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing. Therefore NO YOKE WILL BE ABLE TO STAY ON ME!!! ELEVEN: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will enjoy divine goodness because Psalm 23 tells me “surely GOODNESS and mercy shall follow me…” In Jeremiah 31:14, God says “my people will be satisfied with my goodness” TWELVE: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I will enjoy divine mercy because Psalm 23 says “surely goodness and MERCY shall follow me…” Psalm 103:8 & 11 describes God as being “plenteous in mercy…” THIRTEEN: If I am a sheep of Jesus, my blessings will last because “goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE…” (not just for one day or one week or one month). Psalm 107:1 says “He is good and his mercy ENDURES FOREVER…” FOURTEEN: If I am a sheep of Jesus, I’ll have divine accommodation both here on earth as well as in heaven because Psalm 23 tell me “I will dwell in his house FOREVER….” Beloved, when I get to heaven I will see my Shepherd (Jesus) and I will shout “HALLELUIAH”! John 14:2 states “In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” The Lord gave the word; GREAT is the company of those that published it (Psalm 68:11)
