BLESSINGS OR CURSES WORK ACCORDING TO PRINCIPLES . When the Lord blessed Noah and his sons after the flood, He also set principles to govern the earth and its inhabitants. He blessed them according to His principles, not above His principles. For instance, He blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful…” Yet for that fruitfulness to be realized, they must sow the seed first. It means that they must plant first before they harvest fruit. What they sow would be what they are going to reap: thus, their blessings were subject to divine principles. . Here were some examples of the dominion of principles over the first family after the flood: 1. Despite the blessings they have, the principle says that if a man kills another, by man shall he be killed. As it is written, “Whoso sheds mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made He man. And you, be you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.” [[Genesis 9:6-7]] 2. Noah sowed seed of vine on the earth and he became fruitful in vineyard. He reaped just what he sowed. He did not sow seed on earth and hope to get his wife pregnant with child: Rather while Noah sowed on earth to reap vineyard, his sons sowed their seeds in their wives to reap children. 3. Noah drank so much of the wine from the vine and he became drunk – he reaped what he sowed. 4. Ham saw his father lay naked and went to gossip about it to mock him; and when his father woke from sleep, another person gossiped what Ham had done to the father. Ham sowed gossip against his father, and he reaped gossip against himself to his father. 5. Shem and Japheth covered their father’s shame, and they got blessings of their father. 6. Ham’s disclosed his father’s shame to his brothers, but Canaan reaped the curse. . The blessings were according to principles, and so was the curse. God blessed the sons of Noah according to principles, and Noah also blessed his sons according to principles. . This is what to learn: Divine blessings or curses work according to divine principles. A curse that breaches principles shall not stand (Proverbs 26:2). Principles are principals over blessings or curses. No one will harm you if you are follower of that which is good. . The law came by Moses, but principles came by Noah. Noah was the first man who blessed another man or cursed another man literally in the scriptures, (apart from spiritual blessings).
