BLESSINGS POINT OF GRACE WOMEN’S NEWSLETTER Luke 8:1-3 (ERV) The next day, Jesus travelled through some cities and small towns. Jesus told the people a message from God, the Good News about God’s kingdom. The twelve apostles were with him. There were also some women with him. Jesus had healed these women of sicknesses and evil spirits. One of them was Mary, who was called Magdalene. Seven demons had come out of her. Also with these women were Joanna, the wife of Chuza (the manager of Herod’s property), Susanna, and many other women. These women used their own money to help Jesus and his apostles. Hey God’s girls. I am here to encourage you today. I want you to know that you are dearly loved, that you are important and that with Jesus on your side, nothing is impossible for you. Our scripture today points out that there were a number of women that followed Jesus as He went about preaching the Word. These women had been healed and delivered and set free and they chose to serve Jesus and His disciples. But what I would like you to notice are the women that used their own money, to help Jesus and His disciples to carry out the work of spreading God’s Kingdom. Often preaching fails to notice that women were then, and still are important in the work of the Kingdom. These women here supported Jesus to do the work He was called to do on earth. “Many other women”, plus 2 women who are specifically named here, supported Jesus and the disciples financially. In our churches we as women should have many opportunities to serve. Often women will be found in worship, children’s church or hospitality. Thank the Lord for those women that are Pastors and Leaders in our churches and then there are also those women that God has called to finance the Kingdom work, Hallelujah. The scriptures tells us it’s more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). There are many scriptures that confirm that blessings come from giving but that’s not the reason to give. Matthew 6:33 (NLT) 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. We are to seek God’s kingdom first. Someone recently told me that there are 250,000 people going to hell every 10 mins. I don’t know if that figure is true but even one soul condemned to hell is a tragedy. Reality is that people will go to hell if no one tells them about Jesus. And reality is that it takes finances to take the gospel to the four corners of the earth. God has placed you in a local church to help the Pastors to fulfil the work of the Kingdom that they have been called to do. You are a part of that call. I know many of those reading this do not have a lot of money and please right Know that I am not asking for your money. I want you to understand that you are a vital part of the sharing the gospel, the good news, at this time in history. Whether you sing, serve, pray or give, you are a vital part of the spread of God’s Kingdom. Without you the work can not be accomplished. You have a part to play, a part only you can fulfil. A part God has given for you alone to do. I want to encourage you today to step into your call. Begin to serve those God has placed around you. Find your place and do it unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). God’s Word says that your gift will make room for you (Proverbs 18:6). For those who have a heart to give financially, dreams to give financially beyond what is imaginable, then can I encourage you to give from what you have in your hand right now. As you are faithful in the little, God will bring increase (Matthew 25:23). The scripture tells us that He gives seed to the sower (2 Corinthians 9:10). I am a firm believer in giving 10 percent as a tithe and then giving an offering on top, to your local church. Maybe you don’t have money to give…well then ask God what you can give. He alone knows your heart. He sees your situation. There is always something you can give and then give and watch God increase you so that you can give more. God is a good God. He will meet your needs as you put His Kingdom first in every area of your life. Be encouraged. He has equipped you with everything you need to do your part in His Kingdom. He said He will never leave you and never forsake you. Rely on Him and you will be a world changer. Look beyond your situation right now. Nothing is impossible with our God. Dare to dream big. Dare to take the first step to fulfilling your dreams. Give and serve in your local church and God will open the windows of heaven for you. I believe in you.
