BLIZZARD: New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced the lifting of the citys travel ban on Tuesday. The Mayor and the Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo instituted the bans due to expected heavy snowfall along the northeast coast of the US. The US National Weather Service for New York said on January 27 that much less snow than previously predicted was going to fall over the western half of its region. The science of forecasting storms, it said, still can be subject to error.
