BLM Land Sale Raises $15,800 Ely – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely District, Schell Field Office held a public auction on Wednesday, July 10, selling three parcels of agency-administered public lands totaling approximately 26.39 acres to Lee Pearson, of Lincoln County, Nev., for $15,800. Pearson was the lone bidder. The parcels, located in Camp Valley approximately 35 miles northeast of Pioche, are adjacent to one parcel of private land and were sold as a single unit through a modified competitive sale. Pearson, the owner of the private parcel, was identified as the designated bidder and was authorized to meet the high bid. The sale was conducted in accordance with the Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act of 2004, complied with the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, and was in conformance with the Ely Resource Management Plan. The Nevada State General Education Fund will receive five percent of the sales proceeds and Lincoln County will receive 10 percent. The BLM will receive 85-percent for wilderness planning and natural resource protection, and recreation and other opportunities in Lincoln County.
