BLM North Dakota Field Office Archaeologists Annette Neubert and Sean Berry were out in the field monitoring some archaeological sites recently. Unfortunately the snow cover prevented the pair from seeing much on the ground and Bowman County, N.D. was windy and cold that day. The BLM monitors cultural sites on BLM-administered lands and keeps an eye on areas with ancient and historical resources because these areas provide the American Public with scientific data regarding both human and animal history from eras long since forgotten. Public Lands are YOUR lands. When these sites are plundered for personal gain, everyone loses the knowledge these places might have shared.
