BLM recent post actually blames wild horse defenders for - TopicsExpress

BLM recent post actually blames wild horse defenders for increasing their capture total in Wyoming from 800 to 1217 horses. This tactic supports a divide and conquer strategy to polarize and distract the public from the fact that they are not implementing viable and available alternatives to manage horses and burros on their rightful ranges. Continuing an unsustainable management program costing the taxpayer $80 million a year. What the taxpayer should also know is that public land livestock grazing is subsidized by the taxpayer at a cost of $132 million a year when less that 3 % of Americas beef is even produced there. BLM needs to take a stand for the horses and top postponing - Use PZP- 95% successful and 100% available to manage on the range now while longer acting vaccine is being developed. the NAS recommendations are viable- managing on the range will save millions of tax dollars a year even if they gather to administer and release. Make it a priority. The math and the science supports it. Advocates for wild horses are American taxpayers too and only ask that the horses are managed fairly in accordance with the intent of the Wild Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act. The BLM needs to be a true multiple use management agency or rename the agency the Bureau of Livestock Management . If you want to express your opinion, contact Neil Kornze ( BLM Director) and ask that BLM implement on the range management solutions that are available to them NOW- stop postponing the use of proven and humane solutions they can use now while they work on longer term solutions. Please be respectful and professional to all agency employees when representing the horses on these issues. Obscene language and hateful comments do not do the horses justice- the horses deserve our best- Thank you! Appeals and motions delayed removal operations, allowing more wild horses to move across the fluid boundary from solid block public lands into the checkerboard in preparation for winter and in search of water; thus, the population estimate for the checkerboard was surpassed by the number of wild horses actually removed. A total of 1,263 wild horses (including one branded gelding) were removed from the checkerboard portions of the Adobe Town, Salt Wells Creek and Great Divide Basin HMAs since September 15. Removal operations have now concluded. Removed wild horses will be sent to BLM holding facilities in Canon City, Colorado, and Rock Springs, Wyoming, and prepared for adoption. The wild horses will be available for adoption at the Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility, the Mantle Adoption and Training Facility in Wheatland, Wyoming, the Wyoming Honor Farm in Riverton, the Wild Horse Inmate Program in Canon City, Colorado, and through the BLMs online adoptions.
