We are grateful every day that Erasmus is with us, because he is a such an amazing creature. He is resilient, brave and loving. We are all in awe of his fighting spirit. Erasmus was just a bachelor, living the dream in the great outdoors. When something happened that would change his life forever. We believe he must have been attacked by another animal, because he had a serious wound on his back. Because he deserves the best level of care, weve been working closely with our veterinarian to ensure were moving him towards recovery. We tried a few different medications to promote healing, but it just wasnt enought for the large wound to heal. We have had the wound biopsied, to make sure it isnt a cancer or anything else that treatment would not help. It wasnt, just a really bad wound. Because his immune system was compromised, he was having trouble healing. Then with the help of the vet, we finally found a combination of treatments that are working! The wound is washed, cleaned and medicated a couple times a day. Healthy skin is now actively growing around the edges, the wound is closing up, and it looks better every week! Erasmus is already feeling so much better! He does need our help to help him get over the last part of this hurdle and back to feeling like the amazing champion that he truly is! He is a fiesty, firey orange kitty - and we want to see him triumph! He becomes a little more loving and appreciative every week, we know that he can tell we are helping him!
