An arctic ridge has moved into the area producing cold temperatures this morning which will not rebound too much today. With 10-20 cm of new loose snow and winds of 40 gusting to 60 kmh, visibilities less than 1 km are expected to develop near noon. Conditions should improve from west to east after a cold frontal passage later afternoon in southeast Saskatchewan and early this evening in southwest Manitoba. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
