BMT update #16 Day +23 We are out!!! Yesterday we aware discharged from 920!!! It was an amazing feeling. Lucas was so patient. He waited in the room while I made long trips back and forth to Renucci. Quietly. Calmly. Ready with his mask on and sitting in his stroller... For 3 hours. When it came time to walk out the door, Rhys created a banner for Lucas to break through to celebrate his victory of leaving and coming so far. It was very emotional for me as the entire staff of the 9th floor gathered around to see us off. There were happy cheers, big hugs and many happy tears. These people are amazing. Lucas... He was so thrilled to break through his banner and just loved it!! Getting settled out me a little in edge as I was nervous a or getting back on feeding schedules and issuing meds and unpacking a wiping things down. But, after a long day of getting settled I am happy to say that we are nestled in and comfy. We went to clinic today and will go again tomorrow to look at his numbers. Lucas is in a happier spot but still really wants to go home. We have been cooking, talking and I taught him how to play GoFish. Today was a very relaxing day and we even got to snuggle-buggie and take a nap. I am so thankful we are done with BMT and that it went so well. I am looking forward to putting radiation behind is a well. Happy, calm, thankful thoughts. We are off to eat our fresh baked cookies... Aaaah.
