BMT update #4 Day +1 When someone has a transplant the days of chemo are called minus days. Transplant day is day zero and days after transplant are plus days. Today is Day +1! Lucas is great today! He went to bed @ 8pm last night, and was up at 6:30. He had 1 1/2 plates of Aunt DiDis spaghetti for breakfast! He had a bath and whipped my butt at Wii Sports Resort Swordfighting! He did have one small bout of vomiting, but that is to be expected. I ordered a wireless keyboard to connect to the computer, so now he is happily playing Nick Jr games online! Speaking of ordering online..... YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Today a whole bunch of boxes arrived from Amazon for the 9th floor! You guys are awesome! Rhys (pronounced Reese) is a man destined for sainthood. (He is the guy in the green shirt in the pics) His job is a Child Life Specialist and they make sure the kids have fun on the 9th floor. He has been here for years, and everyone who knows him speaks so highly of him. (This is the man who explained Lucas condition to Hannah and Charlie). He brought the boxes to the door, and Lucas watched him open them through the glass. Soon a crowd was around him with the nurses and Drs shaking their heads in disbelief at what you guys have done! I smiled and said Oh, this is just the beginning! What a cool tribute to Lucas and all the babies up here!!! Keep em coming!!! My goal is to fill the floor!!! Below is the info that I sent previously, if you want to join in the fun!!! Please share it with everyone you can!!!!! Something for others! Now if you want to do something cool for others, you can send crayons and play-doh up here so the kids can have fun with it. See, cancer kids cant share play-doh and crayons due to germs. The 9th floor at DeVos is in dire need of 8 packs of crayons and play-doh, so please make it happen for these kids! They deserve it! Everybody up here is somebodys baby who deserves a smile! You can even send them in honor of Lucas! Please make this your mission to make this happen and to share with everyone you can (church, work, community, etc). Somebody please post this to the GL Community FB page. Dont worry, they wipe it all down before it reaches the kids.
