BNP acting secretary general Mira Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday condemned RAB as a killer force and repeated the demand for its dismantling. He made the remarks while addressing a programme at the Jatiya Press Club arranged by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) protesting the relocation of trial of Khaleda’s graft cases to a makeshift court at Dhaka Alia Madrasah ground. Mirza Fakhrul said,“Rab is now killer force that could be hired. They are claiming people’s lives instead of giving them security. So, there’s no need for keeping this force. So our Chairperson’s demand for disbanding Rab is justified and timely one.” Not only Rab but also the government and the Prime Minister will also have to shoulder the responsibility for Narayanganj seven murder, Mirza Fakhrul added. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday night demanded the dismantling of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) alleging that it was being used for political purposes.
