BOA NOITE... STEVE JACOBS (Director and Photographer)... - The Big Ride Steve is an award winning director and actor, and has been performing for over 25 years in theatre, television and film. In the 90′s, he formed the production company Wild Strawberries with Anna-Maria Monticelli so he could direct the films he wanted to make. In 2008 Anna and Steve completed their first feature, La Spagnola, with Steve directing. La Spagnola won the audience award for Best Film at 3 international film festivals and was Australia’s official entry in the Foreign Film Category at the 2002 Academy Awards. In 2008 he completed work as director on the film adaptation of J.M.Coetzee’s award winning novel Disgrace, starring John Malkovich. The film won the International Critics Prize (Fipresci Prize) at the Toronto International Film Festival, The Black Pearl for Best Film at the Middle East International FIlm Festival and the Grand Prize at the Taipei International Film Festival. In the US Disgrace was named one of the 10 Best Films of 2009 with The New York Times, Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun and Stephen King for Entertainment Weekly. He has just published his first novel Three Women… One Man. Set in the the 80′s, it follows a group of actors surviving in turbulent London. Steve is currently living in Paris and developing a slate of film projects.
