BOCH DEVOTION: “He swore by himself” As you read the - TopicsExpress

BOCH DEVOTION: “He swore by himself” As you read the scriptures and your aim is to behold Christ, you will find a constant refrain to the words spoken by the father towards you. I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb 13:5), I have loved thee with an everlasting love. God always committed himself to do things for you. He didn’t require you to first do something. This is his unmerited favor drawing you into his glory, the very life he intends for you to live. When you are conscious of this, your heart becomes expectant and receptive towards the father. You see an oath is established when one swears by someone or something greater than himself. But God could not swear by something greater because he is the greatest therefore he swore by himself to confirm the immutability of his counsel to you the heir of promise (Heb 6:13-20). Just rest in his promises child of God, they cannot fail. He swore by himself. Confession: I rest in your word father because your promises to me are as sure as the day. You loved me so much that you swore by yourself that I might have strong consolation and I surely have this hope as an anchor for my soul.
