BOKO HARAM: YET ANOTHER THEORY (I) There are myriad of theories that seek to explain who Boko Haram is/are, what Boko Haram want(s) and the might of Boko Haram. Whether you believe the ‘Americans are here’ theory; American government seeking to collapse Nigerian government so that Nigeria will not become lone superpower in 2015, or you believe the Islamist jihadists theory; those out to Islamize Nigerians by killing both the Muslims, Christians, Pagans and little children not old enough to decide their choice of religion. Or you deem the Fulani herdsmen theory; the razing and killing of entire village using sauro (stick) in one hand and a cow in the other. Better yet, the run-a-away White woman theory; White woman seen running away from the scene of first Nyanya bombing, though, from excavation pattern and depth of point of explosion, trained eyes can tell, its a buried bomb. But let’s tag it to a White woman just for the flow. As far as I am concerned, insurgents in Nigeria remain faceless, their mission remains a mystery, and the government’s counterinsurgency strategy remains by obscurity. This confusion has left the entire populace at the mercy of the government and the insurgents. Just in case you can take in anymore theory, here is my stool pigeon insurgency theory. Stool pigeon insurgent is when some midlevel commandants and some security directors turned informants against the government and give information to insurgents. Thereby, as a decoy for the insurgents drawfield officers within the net of insurgents and sabotage efforts of their superior officers for two simple reasons: one, for huge money and two, for regional hatred. These officers should be considered worse than merchants of war. They are not only in it for profit they are in it for regional annihilation. In the case of the ongoing insurgents in Nigeria; where well over a million innocent lives lost, something started by ill-educated hoodlums contained to a minority area in Borno state, I believe is hijacked by some sophisticated criminal minded midlevel commandants and some security directors turned stool pigeon for the insurgents and teamed with the so called foreign security professionals; the Israeli roadside used security equipment spare parts dealers. The Empirical questions 1. Why are indigenous and Diaspora independent security professionals constantly blackmailed and prevented from making positive and professional contributions, something key to counterinsurgency strategy? 2. Why are figures of security agents casualties completely kept secret? 3. Why did security agents ignore plate number ‘day-2’ found on the car used for the first Nyana bombing; a security code known in security community? 4.
