BOLDEN: Always plan on at least a 12 hour day when working on a film set. This is a general rule for all films. Sometimes its shorter (rarely) but most of the time its 12 hours or longer. Im having some cancellations now that the calltime has been pushed an hour. Keep in mind, we went to painstaking measures for the last few weeks to find the right look/size/availabily/prewardrobe fits/preharifits/premakeupfits, had you grow out your beard, cover your tattoos, cut your hair, order your suits, etc... to make sure that we have the best look for your scene in our early 1900 filming today. We can not just replace you. You and your specific look are important to todays filming. Those of you who are cancelling your job at the last minute are causing a lot more work for us. 90 % of you have already confirmed and Im thankful for you, and know that I can count on you. Youre professional, respectful, dependable and will remain on my list of honorable filmmakers. If 5 -10% of 227 background actors dont show up, whove already been prefit for these scenes, it puts us in a serious bind. Good thing for me that I overbook, but if any more cancellations come in for this afternoons filming, were going to have a problem. Please respect your commitment to todays filming. Its going to be an amazing day/night on set and we need each of you, working with us as a team, to help bring this incredible story of Buddy Bolden, to the big screen. Thank you.
