Aamir Khans PK Breaks Many Records With its Collections Rajkumar Hiranis recent release PK, which starred Aamir Khan in the lead role, collected Rs. 182.58 crore in its first week in India, making it the highest week one collection. The film opened at Rs. 26.63 crore on a working Friday and Saturday saw an upward growth of Rs. 30.34 crore, while Sunday made a record breaking Rs. 38.44 cr. The first weekend saw the highest rate of growth for any Indian film. Mondays collection was Rs. 21.22 crore, Tuesday was Rs. 18.85 crore and Wednesdays collection was Rs.19.55 crore. PK collected Rs. 27.55 crore on Thursday, making it the highest Christmas day collection for any movie. PK set quite a few records in Hindi cinema; Highest non-Holiday Monday collection for any Film (21.22 crore), Highest day 7 collection ever for any film. (27.55 crore), Highest Christmas Holiday collection ever and the Highest Opening Week for any Hindi Film- 182.58 crore. Not only this, PK seems to be enjoying a very high repeat index. Infact, this time around it is the highest ever for any film in Hindi cinema. The collections are going up day by day and the weekday advance booking is also excellent. The film is now drawing a repeat audience, thanks mainly to the fact that PK, like all Rajkumar Hiranis films, caters to a strong middle class Indian audience and its humour is also very Indian in ethos.
