BOM #SA #ADELAIDE SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for DAMAGING WINDS bit.ly/19ghyM9 For people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Mid North, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the Eastern Eyre Peninsula and Riverland districts. Issued at 9:48 am Wednesday, 2 October 2013. A low pressure system located well south of the State is generating a vigorous westerly flow over southern districts today. Strong to gale force northwest to southwesterly winds averaging 50-65 km/h with damaging gusts of 90-120 km/h are forecast. Showers and thunderstorms may also produce damaging wind gusts of 90-120 km/h in the warning area. Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Mount Gambier, Clare, Edithburgh, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, and Victor Harbor. Maximum wind gusts observed this morning include a gust to 104 km/h at Mount Gambier and a gust to 93 km/h at Robe Airport.
