BOMB THREAT AT HURLBURT FIELD: Due to a suspicious package left near the base’s front gate at approximately noon today, Hurlburt Field has instituted increased security measures. Emergency response personnel from Hurlburt Field and the Okaloosa Sherriff’s Department have responded to the scene. A cordon has been established around the suspicious package. The front gate and a portion of Highway 98 have been closed. Any incident that would pose a threat to Hurlburt Field personnel is automatically investigated by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the 1st Special Operations Security Forces Squadron. All base personnel are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Security Forces at (850) 884-7777. Media should direct any and all questions to the 1st Special Operations Wing Public Affairs office at (850) 884-7166. More information will be released as it becomes available.
