BOO to American Girls! My friend lost her home in the Washington, IL tornado last week. They found 2 of her 4 year old daughters dolls damaged in the rubble this week. American Girl transferred her department to department after telling her they would fix them. They were a gift from her grandmother so she did not have a receipt, but offered to pay American Girls to repair them. Even if they did have a receipt, it would have been destroyed by the tornado. The next department told her to buy new ones with the insurance money and refused to help her! Hey American Girls! When do you think the insurance money is coming- today? tomorrow? Over 100 people are left with land and a basement with a sky on top! They are struggling to buy toothpaste and soap for their kids while staying in hotels and temporary shelters. I doubt many of the victims have the money to buy $100 dolls, and it will be quite some time before insurance will write any checks. To make a 4 year old (whose whole life revolves around her American Girl dolls) wait for months or longer for her beloved doll is cruel! She just lost everything she owned and almost lost her family! You should not only fix her dolls, you should donate new ones to the child victims of the storm! SHAME ON YOU! You lost me as a customer. Businesses from hundreds of miles away donated time and money to this tragedy and your intention is to profit from it. I hope all my friends ban your products!
