BOOM! Just found out I get out of the hospital tomorrow! We all then go to my moms for a few more days while I heal, see a couple of doctors, make sure that tumor was fully benign, and then we get to go home. Thank you to everyone for all the encouraging words along the way. The good vibes helped, but lets be real. This could have gone disastrously for me if I wasnt on my partners health care plan. We need a single payer health care system in this country so whether or not tumors get taken out of your body dont come down to whether or not you happened to be married someone in a union or whether you can afford the procedure. Thats why I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the Washington Teachers Union for fighting for good health care for their members. The next time Campbell Brown or Michelle Rhee or some hack demonizes teachers unions, I will remember that they are arguing for the families of teachers to shut up and just live with their tumors. An acute moral bankruptcy animated their every argument. Im done. Fight on, beautiful peoples! DZ
