BORN ON PURPOSE At this time Moses was born… ---Acts 7:20 The business was growing and it was time to hire another person and it had to be the right person. Requirements for the position demanded that the future employee be able to work with people in difficult situations. Conflicts would arise, but this person would have to resolve the differences quickly to continue production smoothly. Yes, at this time the right person was needed. At a particular time you were born. It was not by accident that you are living at this time. Do you understand what God’s desires and plans are for you? Are you living for Him and His ways, trusting Him to guide you in the direction He wants? It is a process, but at some point in our lives we should understand the work the Lord God has for us now and then in the future. Moses was born during a very difficult time for the Israelites. Not only had they been in bondage for a very long time, but the most recent hardship for them was that they were to kill all the male babies at birth (Exodus chapter 1). This was an order given by Pharaoh. It was at this time that Moses was born, but it wouldn’t be until 80 years later that God would have Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt to head for the Land of Canaan. This was the work that Moses was called to. But, there would be a long time of preparation for Moses before God would work through him to lead His people out of Egypt. It would be a learning process of which included growing up in the household of Pharaoh’s daughter, not seeking to accomplish God’s will his own way (Exodus 2:11-15) and being in the wilderness for 40 years until God called and commissioned him at the burning bush. How is God preparing you? Or, how has He prepared you for the work He has for you to do? We are all in process in His plan. Are we being faithful at this present time with what He has for you? Typically, God gives us little things for us to do in preparation for something bigger that He has for us. But, we are told in Luke 16:10 that a person needs to be trusted with very little to show he can be trusted with very much. He needs to be seen being honest with very little that he may be honest with very much. So, how are you doing right now with what the Lord desires of you? Are you being faithful and honest with the responsibility He has given you? It is only when we are that He will move us on to what He has in store for us next. Just remember, it is in His timing and not ours that you were born and are living at this time slot for His plans and purposes. May we yield to what He desires to do in and through us. Dear Father, may I be an open and willing vessel for You to accomplish what You desire through me. Thank You for allowing me to know Jesus and to have the Holy Spirit’s power to live according to Your desires. May I yield to His movement on a moment to moment basis to honor Your Name.
