BORNEO Studio Update Update #2 · Sep 24, 2013 · comment Hello again Mell and Borneo fans. Yesterday was quite a productive day at Skylab Recording. Both Bryan and I put our best feet forward or should I say ears in our multifaceted roles as musicians/producers and concluded the majority of the mixes for Borneo and For No One. A little more tweaking and those two songs are in the bag. At times during the mixing process, layering the multiple tracks and strategically placing these kaleidoscope of sounds over the foundation/heartbeat of each song without burying one or the other initially appeared to be a daunting task. A little tweak here and a turn of a knob there put us back on track. Staying within the tonal genre of what I believe Mell wanted his collection of songs to sound like allowed us to focus on each nuance of his creations and balance each track accordingly. Next Monday September 30th, is when Bryan and I return to Skylab. Not only will this be a mixing session but drum tracks for another song will be laid down. Looking forward to another hopefully productive session, I bid you all a wonderful week and will update you all with any new info as The Borneo Project steadily moves along.
