BOTSWANA BEING HONORED THIS EVENING AT THE ANNUAL JEWELLERY AND DIAMOND FAIR IN LAS VEGAS, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA This evening Botswana be conferred with the 2014 Global Diamond Industry Achievement Award at the Jewellery and Diamond Fair in Las Vegas, USA, at the Diamonds in the Sky Gala. This award is to honour Botswana for its outstanding global leadership and contribution to democracy, sustainable development and growth of the international diamond industry. 0ver 80% of the World’s major companies, producers and consumers in the diamond industry will be present at the Fair, and as an Award winner, Botswana will be the focus at the event. This is the world largest Diamond and Jewellery show and a barometer for the year’s performance of the diamond jewellery industry. The Honorable Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources Kitso Mokaila will receive the Award from the Diamond Empowerment Fund on behalf of His Excellency the President Lt. General Seretse Khama Ian Khama. Brand Botswana, Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO) and the Diamond Hub, alongside the Botswana Mission in the United States of America, will participate at the fair to leverage on the attention that Botswana will receive as an award recipient. Brand Botswana, BTO and Diamond Hub will exhibit and tell the Botswana story at the event, focusing on Botswana’s Diamonds for Development story, the investment opportunities created by Botswana’s diamond industry and to promote Botswana as a destination of choice for both tourism and investment.
