BOYYYYYYY, I CANT TELL YOU HOW OFTEN FOLKS GET THIS WRONG!! This is something that is easy to understand IF someone is willing (and able) to STOP and THINK about for just a few moments. If God meant Do Not KILL, then he would have immediately contradicted himself with many of the things he told the children of Israel to do. Starting of course with telling them exactly how to sacrifice (that means KILL) animals properly to atone for sins. But then he specifically told them to go and KILL entire CULTURES OF PEOPLE. So once again, if God cannot lie, or contradict himself, then the idea that he said Do Not KILL becomes rather silly. ~ Unhyphenated America youtu.be/0RENPaY043o Published on Dec 1, 2014 You Can Kill, but You Cant Murder If asked to state this Commandment, most people would say Do Not Kill. This is understandable because the classic King James Bible translates it this way. But the English language has changed since 1610. Furthermore, Hebrew has two words for killing just as English does. The correct translation, as Dennis Prager explains, is Do Not Murder. Once you grasp this, the meaning of the commandment changes entirely.
