@BPHERALD 30 & 60 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK ~ (1983) The Belle Plaine town baseball team’s season came to an end, losing to Carver 7-5 and Shakopee 4-1 in the regional competition. (1953) Jordan eliminated the Tigers in the MRL semifinals playoffs 3-2. Paul Keup threw remarkable four-hit ball and allowed only one earned run as the Tigers led the entire game until the last half of the ninth. (1923) The Belle Plaine ball club wound up its league season in second place, one game behind New Prague. Other teams following in order were Jordan, New Market, Prior Lake, Savage, Shakopee and St. Patrick.
