BPPC welcomed the recommendation of state human right commission Blood Patients Protection Council (BPPC) welcomed the decision of Adv.K.E.Gangadaran, hon’ble member of Kerala state human right commission to recommend for providing five Lakh rupees as compensation and five thousand rupees as monthly allowance to the girl contracted HIV through blood transfusion. An eight year old Thalassemia affected girl from Wayanad district, Kerala contracted HIV through blood transfusion from govt.owned Medical college hospital, Calicut or Mananthavady district hospital Wayanad,Kerala. Blood Patients Protection Council had lodged various complaints to the human right commission, Chief Minister and health minister of Kerala after visited the patient’s house for the justice of the girl and other blood receiving patients. Human right commission also recommended for the free treatment and special privileges in education of the girl. In this land mark verdict Hon’ble commission stressed for the immediate implementation of modern blood screening test in all government owned blood banks and hospitals. Earlier chief minister of Kerala ordered to provide a house to the family of the girl as requested by BPPC and one thousand rupees as monthly pension. BPPC has demanded to the Government of Kerala in a press release to take immediate step to implement the recommendation of the Human right commission.
