BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) conduct combined exam to fill for various vacancies in Bihar Gov. Mainly BDO (Block Development officer) and DSP (deputy superintendent of police). Total number of vacancy for one exam notification is around 1100 (only around 50% is available general category), it may vary year to year. Full exam cycle for one exam notification is around 2 year. It includes Pre exam (PT), main exam and Interview. Any graduate can apply for BPSC exam, Age limitation is there according to category. Around 2 Lakh (2,00,000) candidate appear in Pre exam, out of which around 15,000 candidate qualify for main exam, out of these 15,000 candidates, only around 2600 candidate qualify for interview. Out of these 2600 candidate only around 1100 get final selection. BPSC Pre Exam Marks Pattern There is single common paper for all candidates, Question is from general studies. The Question paper is of Objective type. Total number of question is 150. One marks for each correct answers, there is no negative marking. Cut off marks for BPSC Pre is around 102 marks for General category, 95 marks for OBC and 75-80 for SC, ST category. There is no fixes syllabus for BPSC Pre (PT) exam. BPSC Main Exam Pattern BPSC Main Written exam is subjective Type. Candidate will also have option to select questions from the question paper to write the answer. Compulsory paper (Common for all) Paper-1- SAMANYA HINDI (Hindi language), full marks- 100 marks (Only need to qualify, marks will not be added in final marks) Paper-2 (General Studies-I), Full marks- 200 Marks Paper-3 (General Studies-II), Full marks -200 Marks. Optional Subject (Any two of the following) Agriculture Management Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science Mathematics Anthropology Mechanical Engineering Botany Medical Science Chemistry Philosophy Civil Engineering Physics Commerce & Accountancy Political Science & International Relations Economics Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration Geography Sociology Geology Statistics Indian History Zoology Law Here is detailed list of BPSC Main Optional Subjects BPSC Exam Subject List Paper-4 (Paper-I of First optional subject), full marks- 200 Paper-5 (Paper-II of First optional subject), full marks- 200 Paper-6 (Paper-I of Second optional subject), full marks- 200 Paper-7 (Paper-II of Second optional subject), full marks- 200 So Total Full makes of BPSC Main exam (Written) is 1200. Cutoff marks OF BPSC Main exam (written) is around 720 Marks for general category. i.e. One need to get total marks above 720 out of 1200 to appear for interview. Interview marks is 150. Final marks are the sum of Main paper (Witten Paper) marks and Interview marks. Based on these marks, merit list is prepared.
