BPU Lineman Do Well At Lineman Rodeo Henry County to Host Lineman Rodeo in 2016 Bowling Green, Ky.- Six of BPU’s Lineman recently competed in the 17th Annual Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo which was held in Bowling Green, Ky, June 6-7 and did well events. A Lineman Rodeo is where lineman and apprentices compete in events that recognizes and rewards safety, skill, and knowledge in their field. BPU General Manager John Etheridge said this is basically like continued training, and with all the new, younger guys we have hired recently its good for helping to hone and develop their skills and good for camaraderie as well. Jerry Hunt took 2nd place overall in the Senior Division, which is for lineman age 45 and older. Hunt also won in some individual events. In the individual journeyman event, two of BPU’s guys, Darin Parker and Ben White, had perfect scores and when combined with time finished 4th and 5th respectively. Three BPU employees competed in the Apprentice competition at the Lineman Rodeo. Randall French took 3rd place overall in the Apprentice division. Also competing and doing well were Josh French and Josh Christensen. Paris and Henry County will be the host of the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo in 2016 and Edwards said it would likely bring upwards of 500 people to the area for a few days. Etheridge said the TRRA has already given $10K to help promote and put on the event.
