BRAZIL 2014 WORLD CUP::::> FIFA COMMENCES INVESTIGATION INTO NEYMARS INJURY!!! FIFA’s disciplinary committee has confirmed that they are studying the challenge that led to Brazil’s Star-player Neymar suffering a back injury to decide on action against Colombia’s Juan Zuniga. The defender caught Neymar with a knee in the back during Brazil’s 2-1 quarter-final win. FIFA’s head of media said the disciplinary committee is analysing the matter. She said further that the spirit of fair play is very important and they (FIFA) want to avoid difficult things on the field of play. Ronaldo De Lima, Brazil’s former World Cup-winning striker said he believe Zuniga intended to hurt Neymar. He told a news conference in Rio de Janeiro that the challenge was a very violent one and he believe there was an intention by the Colombian player to cause some harm. He added that he doesn’t think it was normal football play, but said that he doesn’t know whether he had planned it beforehand but he do believe it was very aggressive, very violent. Former Italian player and also a World Cup-winning defender Fabio Cannavaro also said he think Zuniga meant to hurt Neymar. Zuniga himself has immediately defended the challenge after the match, saying he had not deliberately hurt Neymar. He said it was a normal move and he never meant to hurt a player. He added that he was on the field, playing for the shirt from his country and not intending to injure anyone. He concluded by saying he was just defending his shirt. While personally, I have already condemned that reckless tackle by Zuniga on Neymar and have also called on FIFA to, with immediate alacrity, introduce stern measures to stem such carelessness and recklessness during matches, I think it will be a double standard by FIFA if Juan ZUNIGAs tackle on Neymar is been investigated and Blaise MATUIDIs tackle on Nigerias Ogenyi ONAZI is IGNORED! As we all know, up till this moment, FIFA didnt say anything concerning that thoughtless Matuidi tackle even when the legendary Diego Maradona condemned the atrocious act and call on FIFA for prompt action to be taken. I wonder why FIFA will allow such an elephantuous misconduct to go as if such is an unexceptionable case that was unbeknown to them. Was it because one is NEYMAR and the other is just ONAZI? What do you think?
