BRAZIL SOCCER GAMES WORLD CUP 2014 BEGIN ON THURSDAY JUNE 12. THE GOOD - BAD AND UNEQUAL. Praying for the hungry and underprivileged children of Brazil, whos welfare needs have been under minded by their own government, to invest the much needed money in building stadiums. None of the FIFA profits will stay in Brazil. For the country known as “o Pais do Futebol” (soccer nation), the World Cup in Brazil should have elicited national pride and excitement. But given rampant corruption of FIFA and the government’s inability to deliver key infrastructure-related services to the people, it is not surprising that the upcoming World Cup has created tension between Brazilians and soccer. So, what other choice do we have but to enjoy the games, let us hope that the tourists spending in Brazil will somehow contribute now to subsidize the needs of the poor. God be with us!
