BREAD CAKE Ingredients 300 gr. of old dry bread 5 macaroons 1 lt of milk 1 egg a pinch of salt 1 lemon (juice and rind) 150/200 gr. of sugar 1 tablespoon of cocoa 1 small glass of grappa 200 gr. of raisins 50 gr. of citron 50 gr. of pine nuts – butter Soak the bread in the boiling milk for at least 4 hours (better still, a whole night) break it up with your hands and add the other ingredients (except the pine nuts and the butter). Pour into a buttered cake tin. Cover with pine nuts and bake in the oven for 2 and a half hours.
