BREAKFAST NEWS WITH ORANGE Health officials at Iganga Hospital are crying foul over unclaimed decomposing bodies in the hospital mortuary as the hospital continues operations without a cemetery. The hospital cemetery was closed three months ago to create space for the construction of new buildings under an ongoing Shs13b project that is being carried out by the Chinese firm Earo Technology International. Iganga District health officer, Dr David Muwanguzi says the matter has further been worsened as the hospitals small and dilapidated mortuary which can only accommodate eight bodies at a time does also lacks refrigeration facilities. The Kamuswaga of Kooki chiefdom, Apollo Ssansa Kabumbuli II has asked government to amend some of the articles in the agreement signed between Kooki and Buganda kingdom. However, the Kamuswaga says Kooki has no intentions of breaking away from the kingdom. This comes as activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his installation come to pitch high. Kooki minister of information, Mr Stanley Ndawula, said although the anniversary is normally marked on May 15, this year’s celebrations will take place tomorrow at Lwentulege village in Kagamba Sub-county, Rakai District. the ceremony will be graced by President Museveni. MPs will this afternoon pay their last respect to the fallen former MP for Kotido South Constituency Clement Henry Oboyo Jabwor in a special sitting.Jabwor succumbed to respiratory failure last Saturday at Mulago hospital where he had been admitted for a week. however, this comes at a time when members of parliament are pressing parliament to come up with guidelines on who should be accorded state burial arguing that the process takes time and finances that should be used for developmental purposes.
