BREAKING - Independence referendum news: YES TAKES 8% LEAD AS SCOTS IGNORE SCARE STORIES ICM poll for the Sunday Telegraph puts Yes at 54% per cent and No at 46% Scots are poised to vote for independence according to an ICM opinion poll conducted for the Daily Telegraph. Another survey has found that Scots believe with their head and hearts that political independence is in the best interests of the future of their families and nation. The Union is not a good deal for them the poll suggests and independence is best for their families and economy. In recent days Downing Street has co-ordinated a campaign aimed at terrifying Scots into voting No with banks and supermarkets threatening depression should they dare vote for political independence. However, this latest poll shows the resilience of Scots voters in the face of such an intimidating media blitz. With the campaign momentum now swinging back towards the nationalists, it is expected that international investors will continue to withdraw investments from London as they conclude that without Scottish oil, the City is a risky prospect.
