BREAKING: Missoui Governor Jay Nixon has just announced a Ferguson Commission tasked with studying the the conditions underscored by the fallout to Brown’s death. The commission will be made up of experts appointed by the Governor and will have no legislative power to enforce its findings on how to create a safer, more just Ferguson. A commission is not enough. The road to addressing the deep seated racism and police violence targeting Black Missourians begins with the arrest and prosecution of Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. Now is a critical time to increase pressure on Governor Nixon and make it clear that he is not off the hook.
