BREAKING NEWS----BREAKING NEWS----BREAKING NEWS The Room sign North American deal Dated: 10/9/2013 British crossover progressive rock band The Room today announce a deal with Canadian Music PR and Promotion company Backstage Montreal to drive awareness and sales of their critically acclaimed debut album across North America. The founder of Backstage Montreal, Guy Lacombe said, “we are absolutely delighted to be working with The Room on this programme. Open Fire is a fantastic album and is a perfect proposition for the Canadian market leading into the broader North American arena. We have an exciting programme created for the band that focuses initially on the release of a new edit of one of the tracks off their album but, that will be followed by another exciting new release and some live shows next year” “We agreed with Backstage Montreal that we needed a focus track to lead the promotional programme.” explained bass guitarist Andy Rowe. “One of the most radio friendly tracks on the album is Screaming Through The Noise but it was a touch too long for mainstream broadcast. We took it back to Damon Sawyer at Platform Studios in Hurst, Berkshire where we recorded the album and together we created a 4 minute edit for FM radio play.” Vocalist Martin Wilson said “We are absolutely delighted with the radio edit and can’t wait to get the promotional programme started. The song is about the intense emotional impact that my son’s battle with retinal cancer had on our family and so carries an incredibly powerful message and meaning for the band.” “We agreed to sign with Backstage Montreal because they demonstrated and incredible enthusiasm for the band and our album. The Room play Jagz Club, Ascot on Friday 18th October followed by The Musician Leicester on November 10th. Further date will be announced in the near future.
