BREAKING NEWS: Allan Simonsen Killed in 24 Hour of Le Mans accident on lap 3 (NASCAR News Now) The 24 Hours of Le Mans started this morning at 10:00am EST although most of the first hour was spent under caution due to a terrible wreck that included Allan Simonsen. With 10 minutes into the 24-hour event, Allan Simonsen driving the #95 Aston Martin Vantage V8 GTE-Am, spun the car. The car veered into the side of the barrier and completely demolished the car. Allan Simonsen had to be extracted from the car and was immediately rushed to a local hospital. It is being reported by multiple sources including SPEEDTV that Allan Simonsen has passed away due to the fatal injuries suffered in the lap 3 crash. We would like to give our condolences to the family and friends of Allan Simonsen. Our thought and prayers are with them as well.
