BREAKING NEWS FROM JOHNSON COUNTY, KS ON DETAINERS The Sheriff of Johnson County, KS has indicated he will no longer honor ICE detainers since they are not mandatory. This means that if a person has a bond on a criminal/traffic matter, they can post it and they will not be held 48 hours on an ICE detainer for ICE to come take them into custody. This practice started on or about May 1, 2014. If a person has an active warrant for failing to appear in Immigration Court and therefore has a live deportation order, ICE will be notified. We salute the courage of the Johnson County Sheriff in protecting due process rights and siding with the rule of law. LAS NOTICIAS MAS RECIENTES DE JOHNSON COUNTY, KS EN LOS ORDENES DE DETENCION El alguacil de Johnson County, KS ha indicado que no va a honrar nada mas los ordenes de detencion de inmigracion a causa de que no son obligatorios. Este significa que si una persona tiene una fianza en un asunto penal o de trafico, puede pagarla y no va a ser detenidos para 48 horas en un orden de detencion de inmigracion para que inmigracion venga para tomarle en custodia. Esta practica empieza en o cerca de 1 de mayo, 2014. Si una persona tiene un orden activo para la falta de aparecer en la corte de inmigracion y por lo tanto tiene un orden activo de deportacion, inmigracion sera notificado.
