JB DUMPS MWALWANDA, SUPPORTS MWENEFUMBO, WANTS PP CANDIDATE ARRESTED In a sharp twist of political events in Malawi, this country’s outgoing President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda has withdrawn her support for a ruling party candidate in the northern region’s lake shore district of Karonga and turned support an independent candidate, we can confidently reveal. There has been a bitter rivalry in Karonga Central Constituency between suspended People’s Party (PP) official Frank Mwenefumbo and PP’s officially recognised candidate, Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda. Mrs Joyce Banda has since made a decision to support the independent candidate Frank Mwenefumbo dumping the PP candidate, Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda. Earlier this month, Frank Mwenefumbo showed up at a meeting addressed by Mrs Banda at Mlare in the Constituency and fracas between supporters of the two candidates ensued. Mwenefumbo is reported to have sustained some injuries. Now with advice and sponsorship from outgoing President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda, Frank Mwenefumbo is taking Dr Cornelius Mwalwanda to court. He wants the PP candidate prosecuted for assault. Outgoing President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda is paying for Mwenefumbo’s legal fees. Mwenefumbo, has hired lawyer Arthur Nanthuru to have Mwalwanda prosecuted. VOTE RIGGING IN KARONGA Meanwhile, reports of rigging have emerged from Karonga Bengazi where the People’s Party officials were facilitating too many suspicious voter electoral transfers to the extent that the Electoral Commission moved in to stop the behaviour. The Electoral Commission is expected to make a final decision on this unlawful behaviour by the Peoples Party. Achoke! Achoke! Achoke!!!
