ALDF, ANIMAL LEGAL DEFENSE FUND, HAS FILED A LAWSUIT TO STOP IT SAYING THE PUBLIC HAS BEEN KEPT IN THE DARK! -When Hendry County approved a controversial primate facility without telling the public or inviting its comment, it didnt violate Floridas Sunshine law, said county administrator Charles Chapman. -Last week, the nonprofit Animal Legal Defense Fund filed suit against the county on behalf of rural residents who live near a the 34-acre site, which could house more than 3,000 macaques linked to outbreaks of infectious disease, including Ebola.
