BREAKING NEWS NOW!! I 5 NORTHBOUND CLOSED IN THE SISKIYOUS A semi truck hauling cars has caught fire in the northbound lanes. Both northbound lanes are closed at this time. OSP and ODOT are on scene enforcing the closure and keeping traffic going in the southbound lanes. Crews from Jackson County Fire District 5, Ashland Fire, and ODF are either on scene or en route. They will be trying to put out the fire on the truck and the vehicles it was hauling while trying to prevent spread to the wildlands. Expect lengthy delays in the southbound lanes and it looks like the closure of the northbound lanes will be lengthy as they put out the fire and clean up the mess.
