BREAKING NEWS! Some DDP officials, including personal assistant to the party’s president Mr. Ben Phiri, have been severely beaten by unknown people at a hotel in Blantyre tonight. DPP publicity secretary Nicholas Dausi claimed those that beat them at Mount Soche Hotel were PP supporters. He told ZBS Mr Phiri was admitted to Mwaiwathu Private Hospital. Mr Dausi said the incident happened at around 8 p.m when the DPP officials were working in the hotels business centre. However, PP acting secretary general Paul Maulidi who was present at the hotel has dismissed accusations that the group involved in the incident was of PP supporters. He said he witnessed the incident, but he cannot identify any of the people as PP supporters. Stay locked on to ZBS for updates.
