BREAKING NEWS; Some interesting comments were made yesterday at the party office by Dr Alex Prince Harding(Deputy National Chairman and Leader of the SLPP). Dr Harding said that the main issue affecting the SLPP since 1967 was the flag-bearer/presidential candidate that the party has chosen on the occasions we have lost national elections. He further went on to say that Sir Albert Margai lost the 1967 elections because he refused the advice given not to conduct elections that year. In the case of Solomon Berewa, Dr Harding said, that Berewa was very difficult to sell to the voters and the SLPP lost as a result of Berewa not been sell-able. Dr Prince Harding was very categorical in his statement when he said that the SLPP has always chosen the wrong presidential candidate EVERY TIME WE HAVE LOST NATIONAL ELECTIONS. These comments were made at the PPRC/CUT peace press conference held at the National party headquarters; Unity Hall.
