BREAKING NEWS: Suspect killed in crash during high-speed chase from Cabarrus County into Mecklenburg Authorities said Cabarrus deputies stopped the man’s car in Cabarrus County for a fictitious tag, according to Independent Tribune news partner WSOC-TV. The man got out of the car, got back in and took off toward Charlotte. The suspect fled and led deputies on a 90-mph chase into Mecklenburg County. His car left the road and hit a tree off Alanbrook Road at Robinson Church Road, according to media reports. The suspect, who has not been identified, died at the scene, according to police.
