BREAKING: The Supreme Court today announced that it would review the legality of the EPA’s 2012 Mercury and Air Toxic Standards (MATS) regulations on electric utilities, which costs consumers billions in higher electricity costs due to compliance measures and has led to the shuttering of power plants across the country, including the slated closure of the Dale Station in Clark County by April 2015. This decision to hear appeals from utilities and state governments against these rules is a victory for the American families and businesses squeezed by the EPA’s efforts to contort its authority under the Clean Air Act to bury our economy in regulatory red tape.
