BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH IS HERE... October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and here at Pall Mall Medical we are keen to highlight our services available to women in the north west. RAPID ACCESS BREAST CLINIC... Quite often, women going to their GP are left waiting and worrying while the necessary tests and scans are arranged. Here at Pall Mall Medical, our rapid access breast clinic makes it quick and easy to get the peace of mind you need. When you come to Pall Mall Medical for an assessment of a lump or pain, you’ll see a consultant radiologist (Dr Furhan Razzaq) and a consultant breast surgeon (Mr Farooq). Your current symptoms and family history will be assessed, followed by a detailed mammogram - and if necessary, an ultrasound – with an experienced radiologist. If any abnormalities are identified, a biopsy; either via fine needle aspiration or core biopsy method, will be performed. The results will be available within 48 hours, and will be discussed in a follow-up consultation with your surgeon soon after the initial assessment. NEXT STEPS...
